Good quality, fast shipping

I ordered a Specialized cycling jersey and some cycling socks. The order process online was straightforward, no hiccups. Shipping was pretty quick, got everything in 3 days to my place in Seattle. The jersey fits well and the material feels durable, good for longer rides. Socks are comfy. Had a question about sizing before I bought, used their chat feature and a rep got back to me in about 15 minutes. Helpful enough. Overall a solid experience.

Reliable for bike parts

This isn't my first time ordering from Mike's Bikes. I've bought tires and a new chain from them before. This time I picked up a set of bike fenders and a multi-tool. Their inventory is always good, usually have what I need. The fenders arrived well-packed, no damage. Multi-tool is standard. I've always had consistent delivery times, usually under a week. My only minor complaint is sometimes the photos on small accessories aren't super clear, but you can usually figure it out. I keep coming back because they're dependable.

Does anyone know if Mike's Bikes offers a discount for first-time buyers? Or like, if I sign up for their emails?

S Shane Q. 2 months ago

I think they do a newsletter signup discount, but it's usually just for accessories or clothing. Don't expect it to work on a whole bike.

C Chris L. 2 months ago

Yeah, I got 10% off some gloves when I first signed up, so def worth a try for gear.

Thinking about getting a new e-bike. Should I check Mike's Bikes or maybe go with REI? Any major differences in selection or service?

L Laura Walsh 2 months ago

Mike's Bikes is really focused on, well, bikes. REI has more general outdoor stuff. For actual bike knowledge and specialized brands, Mike's is probably better.

A Alex Vargas 2 months ago

If you're looking for Specialized or Santa Cruz, Mike's is definitely the place. REI has a broader range but maybe not the depth in those specific high-end brands.

Are their clearance sales any good? Like, real deals or just minor discounts?

D David 2 months ago

Oh, their clearance sales can be really good, especially for older models. I've seen bikes go for 30-40% off.

L Laura D. 2 months ago

They do pretty solid sales. The end-of-summer and Black Friday sales are usually the best for big ticket items.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a Specialized from these guys. Are they legit or like, some random online store?

J June Reyes 2 months ago

Yeah, totally legit. They're one of the biggest Specialized dealers in the US, pretty well-known.

A Alex Ito 2 months ago

They've been around forever, definitely not some fly-by-night operation. Bought my road bike from them last year, no issues.

Can I return a bike if it's not the right fit? What's their return policy like?

N Neil L. 2 months ago

Yeah, you can return stuff. Just make sure it's unused and in new condition. Check their policy for the exact timeframe, but it's pretty standard.

G Greg T. 2 months ago

I returned some shorts that didn't fit right, it was super easy. Bikes are probably a bit more involved but as long as you don't trash it, you should be fine.

What's the deal with their bike assembly? If I order online, do I have to build it myself or do they ship it ready to ride?

B Brett R. 2 months ago

They offer professional assembly for shipped bikes, which is awesome. I just had to adjust the seat and handlebars.

N Neil 2 months ago

You can actually choose to have it professionally assembled. Otherwise, it's mostly assembled but you'll have to put on the front wheel and pedals.

How long does shipping typically take for a new mountain bike? I'm in Colorado, hoping to hit the trails soon.

W Wendy B. 2 months ago

For a whole bike, it usually takes a bit longer than small stuff. I'd say maybe a week to 10 days to the midwest, so CO might be similar.

J Jared R. 2 months ago

My road bike got to California in about 5 days, but that was pre-pandemic. Might depend on the exact model too.
